What has Smartspaces been up to? Since our last show, we’ve been making lots of friends, wooing sponsors, roaming the city for art and spaces and gearing up for the holidays — stay tuned for details about our next show! The world is full of people bringing art to the public in innovative ways—from Banksy’s pet store, to The NYC Waterfalls to a historical view of Street Art at the Bronx Museum, we’re excited to be part of this movement.

May 28 launch party @ 266 W. 37th

An enthusiastic crowd came out to celebrate our first window exhibition! It was a movable feast of sorts, with people roving back and forth between Tamara Gayer’s installation and the bar across the street. Video and photos after the jump.

First Smartspace launching May 25-30

May 1st, 2008

And we’re off! Smartspaces is debuting its first window May 25-30 at 266 W. 37th Street. In collaboration with Smartspaces, curators Kimberly Marrero and Louky Keijsers have selected artist Tamara Gayer to create a site-specific installation, Color Coordinated.
