Proposals
SmartSpaces does not currently have spaces available, but we welcome proposals at any time.
How it Works: SmartSpaces is a connector and producer, not a curating organization. We choose a different curator for each space by invitation or proposal. All proposals must include someone—an individual, team, or organization—playing the role of curator for the artist(s), i.e. helping to select, plan, install, present, and contextualize the work in supporting material, e.g, text, audio, video.
Proposals are reviewed periodically by our "alumni," curators and artists who have worked with SmartSpaces in the past, as well as our Board of Directors. To submit a project for consideration, download our proposal form PDF and email your completed proposal to info [at] smartspaces [dot] org. Thank you!
Art in empty spaces is a shared idea, and many people are making it happen in different ways. We encourage artists to explore other organizations and opportunities:

No Longer Empty (New York)
The Laundromat Project (New York)
