FAQ
How does Smartspaces work?
Smartspaces.org is the hub at the center of several networks — owners, curators, artists, and sponsors. A different curator (individual, team, or organization) selects art for each space. This distributed model for curating and sourcing space ensures quality, flexibility, and diversity.
Does Smartspaces sell art?
No. Smartspaces simply provides wide public exposure and information. Art is clearly labeled and anyone interested in purchasing art can find artist information on our website.
Does it cost anything?
No. Smartspaces is free for artists and owners.
Can artists submit proposals?
Smartspaces is a connector and producer, not a curating organization, and we choose a different curator for each space, by invitation or proposal. Smartspaces does not currently have spaces available, but we welcome proposals with curators attached.
How is Smartspaces funded?
Smartspaces.org operates as a non-profit organization funded by corporate sponsors, grants and private donations. We are a fiscally sponsored project of the Fractured Atlas.
How can I get involved?
There are many ways to participate in Smartspaces — please get in touch! We take a referral-based approach to growing our network. Participating artists and curators bring more artists and curators into our community.
